Silo Douala Port Foundation Piles

Project Overview

Foundation pile design and execution for a major grain storage facility at Douala Port, featuring 529 foundation piles and 52 shoring piles for eight storage silos with 40,000 tons total capacity.

Challenge

Complex drilling through unknown soil conditions including old reinforced concrete slabs with steel reinforcement rebars up to 40mm diameter in port environment.

Our Solution

Implemented secant pile wall system with specialized drilling techniques to navigate through challenging subsurface conditions and existing infrastructure.

Results Achieved

• Successfully executed 529 foundation piles
• Completed 52 shoring piles with secant pile wall system
• Achieved 40,000 tons grain storage capacity across eight silos
• Project operational by March 2025
